A condition that only affects females, Turner syndrome is caused by a complete or partial absence of one of the two X chromosomes. The specific features and symptoms of Turner syndrome are different for each woman, but almost all women with this condition will have short stature and loss of ovarian function.
Although there is no cure, many treatment options are available to help control the features and symptoms of the disorder. Some of these options include:
  • Regular screening
  • Medications
  • Surgery
  • Counseling and support.
